The December 29 earthquake shook up our curiosity, so division four crafted a science inquiry into the science of earthquakes, their causes, effects and what we can expect to happen when the “big one” hits Langley.
Today we brought in some experts to help us become experts. Mrs. Ginger Sherlock, the Emergency Program Coordinator for the Township of Langley visited us in the morning. After recess we had a 45 minute Q & A session via Skype with Dr. Carlos Ventura from the Department of Engineering at the University of B.C. Dr. Ventura is one of Canada’s leading experts on earthquakes.
